Glen's Leaving Me...

Glen, that devilishly handsome man, is leaving me on a jet plane. boo With his professor, no less! He is going to the Marshall Islands next week... without me. weird  It's been a stupidly long time coming. Cancellations and other setbacks of the like. But he actually has the plane ticket now. crazy

My scientist
While he is frolicking in the beautiful reef that is the Marshall's, I'm in Hawaii. All alone. What's a girl to do? There's always school still, I guess. But there is an entire weekend AND two days off during the week. crap (The week was strategically chosen for not missing as many school days)

So, I'm alone. Alexa and Cassandra, now would be the perf time to just pop onto this little island... hey?

I guess maybe I'll just have to drive places. Like actually be in thee driver's seat. I wonder if I know how still. Totally kidding, of course I do. I love driving. I just drove like 2 seconds ago to get milk. I may be overreacting a tad. I can do this!

I emailed GoPro  to see if they would lend Glen one of their cameras for the week, but they said they don't do that... Of course you don't do that! That's why I asked you if you would! Hmph. So, that's down the drain. I guess maybe we'll have to buy one with money.

A little from the recent past: We haven't done anything because we're in school. lame Plus, the things we do... we normally can't document because it's rainy season and we don't have a waterproof camera. *cough*gopro needed*cough*

Glen playing in the rain because it's water falling from the sky.
So, it's been raining and we've been loving it. It makes the island flourish with vegetation and we don't have to waste our time with taking showers ;)

Valentine's Day
For Valentine's day, we made fondue on the Sunday before because that week was going to be really busy for both of us. We tend to treat every holiday as a food party. No presents other than an awesome meal, maybe when we actually have money for a present we will indulge ourselves, but for now... a meal with each other is the greatest, we love it.

It's chocolate fondue and cheese fondue in a crockpot. How easy, you may ask? So easy. Pinterest is my best friend.

Ron Swanson Valentine? Why yes, I think I did just go there.
A couple of weeks ago, we went into Honolulu for some things and ended up at Queen Liliuokalani's palace. She was the last Queen of Hawaii (I won't go into too much of the history, don't worry). We went there to find genealogical records in the archives office on the property, found close to nothing, but it was fun anyway. The middle picture below is on the gate to the royal house.
The picture to the left is outside of our door on a really clear late morning. Then, the right is an early morning picture of BYU-Hawaii's campus grounds. We love living here, it's beautiful. There are more pristine and more beautiful islands out there, but this is the one we live on and we are pretty dang happy to be here.

Here's to a week of loneliness and an eternity of love.
We'll see how I do.
